So the weatherman calls for more snow! You say oh no! Your child says oh yes! I know lots of snow has fallen and seems to keep coming non-stop. Adults hear the word snow and think more shoveling, scraping and salting. Children think more sledding, snowmen and snowballs.
Let’s try to remember, just as our children are developing mentally and physically, they are also developing and creating memories.
Children should hear positive comments about the snow and all it has to offer us. It is a great time to discuss weather around the world, the likeness and differences, but more importantly it gives you the opportunity to take part in helping your child create positive, happy memories such as “ mommy made the best hot chocolate!” and “ dad made a fun sled!”
So the next time you hear “snow” say yes let’s go make some memories that will last a lifetime!
Enjoy every moment!
